Of course I am biased since I am also a small software developer, but I have bought licenses for it and think it's the best things since sliced bread. Maps are (of dubious legality) readily available on the net and you can always calibrate your own images if you need to. I think Ozi is incredibly cheap if you use all the features, and in comparison to the demo copy of MM I tied it stacks up V well. If you ask round on here I am sure you will find someone locally who has the OS maps for Ozi, so you could try them and then buy them of course.
