elmscroft
Hi all, I'm after a bit of advice, I'm pretty sure the engine is poorly even after I putting back together, after someone else stripped it. it was suspected the head gasket had gone, but having cleaned out the sump of what was more like grease than oil, I feel the poor 1.8 k-series is cooked. My question will all the 1.8 k-series fit straight in even from a lotus elise. Are any mods. required ie. oil pick up etc. Anyone recommend an engine reconditioner? Any help would be very welcome. Wife would be happy too. Many Thanks Mike and Sam

jules
Same engine we have a 1.8 in our freelander which is basicly a lotus lump built by PTP in Hinckley. We have been racing it for three years and won three british off road class championship with it and apart from us changing the cam belt every 5 races and a full service every race we have never needed to touch the engine. the kits is a new head and about £1700 and give out about 140 bhp
