western
Thanks, got the fuel gauge/sender/low fuel light wiring sussed now with your help got most of the other wires identified & labelled ready for fit too, just the ones in my earlier reply to identify now Edited September 2, 2007 by western
western
think I've got all the wire colours sussed now, no traction control or abs wiring on the instrument pack, also I won't need the check engine & engine immobilsers, water in fuel sensor warning lights either. still thinking of just using the gauges/speedo with my existing warning light unit, will try it for a while & see how I get on with them after a while. western
Thanks Mo sure does, just powered up each of the warning lights as far as the wiring in the 2 plugs goes & have labelled all of them, no more spare wires to ident now.
Guest diesel_jim
Going from Nick orange90's question, a ) here's the wobbly wibbly thread Nick b ) Here is a complete Td5 dash for only £30 at the mo on eblag. nothing to do with me
Guest diesel_jim
Anyone else need a dash? one here in Swindon where Les and I reside. no bids yet.
western
I've decided to only fit the Td5 electronic speedo & fuel & temp gauges to my '89 110, I prefer my existing warning light panel as it has other lights in that the Td5 panel doesn't give me. Guest diesel_jim
Just in case anyone else was contemplating doing this conversion, here's another cheap Td5 dash on eblag
western
I haven't done much more to mine except to change the speedo total reading to the correct for my 110, need to run the lekky drill for a bit longer yet as it's got to increase the reading by 159,000 to match the old speedo. Mo Murphy
All the stuff on my dash is still working marvellously If only I could find out why it won't save the trip meter reading, minor I know but I like these things to work as they should. western
Looking at mine the trip reading would need a permanent 12v feed to keep it intact, just increasing the total reading on mine, & everytime I switch off the power supply the trip reverts to a 0.0 reading, it's OK if the power is left on. one of the wires needs a permanent feed via a 5amp fuse, maybe thats the trip save wire. Mo Murphy
Ah, not just me then More detective work required methinks. Mo
western
the wire that needs a 5amp fused supply is Brown/Blue trace.
Mo Murphy
Are you saying that this is the one to retain the trip meter reading, Ralph ? edit - just checked, that's the permanent 12v supply, Ralph which charges the battery inside the speedo. I have that one connected. Mo
western
Are you saying that this is the one to retain the trip meter reading, Ralph ?Mo thought it was, but I'm wrong, looking at all the wiring info we've got within the thread, the brown/blue is for the alarm led., there's a purple/white that's a permanent live feed on pin 9 of the upper connector block that might be the one to save the trip reading. but don't quote me

I can't find a purple/white in the wiring diagrams but I can find a purple/brown going to pin 9 of the 1060 connector. I'll investigate further. Mo Murphy
Purple/brown going in on pin 9 goes to the alarm/immobiliser light in the speedo head. Another dead end
western
wonder if it's done by a internal link then within the speedo head.
Mo Murphy
I would assume so Ralph but it's not working on either of my 2 speedos or yours so there is something we need to do to make it save (unless all three speedos are faulty, which I doubt). I wonder what it is ? Mo
western
just had a play with mine, as it's indoors & racking up the total reading, with the power supply on & transducer running, I've disconnected the white/green feed & the mileage/trip reading went out, when I reconnected it the readings came back to thier previous digits. western
sent the speedo off to Digidash to have the total reading adjusted [increased] to match my 110's existing total reading, so while I'm on my Xmas holiday I can fit the new electronic speedo/fuel & temp gauges, still not sure if I'll use the illuminated heater slide parts or the Td5 warning light part. western
I bet that took them aback, when you asked them to increase the milage!! He was fine about it, no awkward questions just wanted to know that it was a increase & the existing mileage total, sent it last Friday afternoon & due to the weekend [no delivery] it arrived @ digidash on Monday, got it back this Weds just gone, really quick service & less than 80quid inc post/packing [came back in the wrapping I sent it in] to sort it, much quicker than trying to add it myself with a electric drill & transducer, I can fine tune the total reading just before fitting the speedo & transducer & the loom you made for me
Ian M
how much did the transducer cost? and where from?
