Guest WALFY
Managed to find some coil springs in the shed yesterday but can't ID them. They seem to have an extra coil and have red and white paint on them. Did a search on here but couldn't see any list of colour codes. Any ideas

Guest diesel_jim
Red/white are the "classic" rangie police spec springs, part # NRC4304 dunno why they're special though... stiffer for all the junk they carry? possibly a little "sportier" for chasing the crims? western
they'll be stiffer to carry the extra weight of the kit that was part of standard on traffic RR's to help prevent the roly poly feeling around corners/bends.
