tedsmart
Ive been advised that its would be a good thing to take out the seals in the axles to allow lubrication from the diff to lubricate the wheel bearings at the same time, I believe this is what used to be on older Defenders / 110's / 109's! If this was the case why did Landrover change it to a dry greased unit seperate to the axle? And how often should you repack the bearings or should I have the seals taken out? Questions questions. I was just wondering the logic behind the improvement of greased wheel bearing over axle oiled bearings? Just wondering....

andy robinson
sounds a good idea, but the problem i had when i did this was, oild from the diff did lubricate the bearings, and the brake disk's and the pads, if you have got a slightly worn hub seal they leak like heck...... so i pulled it all in bits again and put new seals back in, and greased the bearings....... hope this helps Andy
