Guest otchie1
Hi, Reading lots of useful info here and mega impressed with the Indexed uber useful sticky threads. Sadly none of them mention what I'm after. What thickness steel should be used for repairs to various bits of the chassis and for that rather cool x-member strengthening job? 2mm? Les Henson
I use 2.2mm steel for most chassis repairs, but if it's critical area, then 3mm. The strengthened rear X-member that I did that's in the tech archive had the ends closed off with 3mm plate, but thinner stuff would be fine. Les.
