sea daddy
My 79 S3 LWB Santana had a roof rack on when I bought it. The roof rack did not have adequate bearing surface and over time wore through the fiberglass channel on the roof. Anyone have any tips how to repair the damaged channels? I have repaired both boat hulls and surfboards in the past, so I have a little experience with fiberglass work, but not sure the best method. I would like to use a roof rack in the future, so I want to ensure the structural integrity of the rain gutters. I was thinking about adding an aluminum channel within the rain gutter and then fiberglassing over that, but I am really open to your suggestions. Thanks.
