foxminer
I`m asking this one for a friend so i may not be able to answer some questions. A friend of mine has a TD5 Disco, he says that when he goes camping to Anglesey he travels along the A55/A5.The journey is approx 90-100 miles. On leaving said road he says that his gearbox is very stiff and finds it difficult to change gear. Then after a while the gears become easy to change once gear changing becomes more frequent. It seems as though the long time travelling without changing gear it becomes stiff. Any pointers gratefully appreciated. Foxminer.

FridgeFreezer
Ashcrofts sell a special oil that supposedly solves or at least reduces this problem, Honitonhobbit was raving about it IIRC. I know some boxes have poor gearchange when cold, and the oil can make this worse.

You could suggest he takes a different route, and see if it makes any difference....
