V8CAMEL
morning At the weekend i bought a 300tdi auto disco. Used it fine over the weekend and travelled up to birmingham with no problems. total about 250 miles. Last night when i left work it was really sluggish. When driving it struggles past 2000 RPM when not loaded ie neutral it happly revs away. Its as though it is in get you home mode It is a N plate ES. chassis TA any info would be helpful as i dont fancy driving home (140 miles) at 50mph thanks paul
q-rover
Check air hoses between turbo and intercooler. They have a habit of collapsing internally, so you have to take them off to inspect.

GBMUD
The fuel lift pump could be failing too Paul. Have you tried removing the pipe and pumping the priming lever? Could the fuel filter be blocked? Is there plenty of fuel in it? Chris

Is there plenty of fuel in it?Chris new fuel filter went on sat afternoon 1/2 tank of fuel had been run on veggie oil and the filter was mank but it ran ok on the veggie oil and ran fine all the way up yesterday morning . When i started it in the work carpark the power was gone. dont think it is the fuel pump as it revs freely when not under load ie to 4-5 k rpm its as though its in get you home mode which when it happened on the freeloader was turbo pipes paul
bishbosh
I had a Toy pickup in the Caribbean that did this - it was water in the fuel. The fuel filter filled up with water and starved the engine of fuel. Try draining the fuel filter.
