Well useally its the rings gone which causes crank case pressure and then this tends to pop out the crank oil seal as the presure wants to get out some where. Run the engine and take out the dip stick. If it is blowing out of it and spitting oil out of it then it has crank case pressure Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

If it is blowing out of it and spitting oil out of it then it has crank case pressure Ali I know what causes crank case pressure I was more after if it was a common problem with the V6 as its the second engine for the car and the seal is being replaced daily and keeps blowing but there is no signs of why when the cap is taken off there is no major signs of pressure and all the oil ways have been blown through to check for blockages etc. I have had very little to do with V6's so I know very little about them Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
TEMPL4R Posted September 2, 2007 Share Posted September 2, 2007 The K series oil pump is similar to a lot of modern engines, it sits at the front of the engine, in the front cover. it is driven off 2 flats on the crank. If the seals go, the pump itself wears or the pressure release valve sticks shut, oil finds its way out the centre and gets behind the front crank seal. Get them to check there.
