bazza
fitted a 200tdi disco gearbox and transfer case (LT230) to my RRC, now the speedo dont work! its got the electronic type sender with a short cable, is the cable a diffefrent size for the drive? it came out of a BW trans case. have checked power to the sender/transducer thingy thats OK. any way to check for a output signal? Cheers Baz
geoffbeaumont
Output signal is a square wave (ie. on/off pulse) - if you pop the speed transducer out and turn it by hand or move the vehicle slowly you can see it on an ordinary multimeter. bishbosh
Same happened to me - speed was dodgy after gearbox change and finally died. The square drive shaft was badly tounded off so I swapped the short cable for a new one (£10 ish) and all was well.
