white90
On Saturday with 25mins before the end of the event Mikes 90 rolled a Simex off the bead we borrowed a T max compressor from Honiton hobbit we used a recovery strop around the tread then a stick to tighten the strop the compressor blew the tyre up and onto the rim. unfortunatley we didn't have a High lift either so we used a strop around a near by tree and winched the car into the air to effect the above

white90
Lewis did you miss the bit that say s we used the winch to lift the car in the air? hence the As you say "faffing" about with strops
andyb
Remove the valve core, this allows you to get more air in there quicker and so will seat the bead. Once the tyre is on the bead you can put the core back in a blow the tyre up as normal. I had to do four 33inch tyres at work that way
