CB in a Disco 2

Up in the headlining, just above and behind the rear view mirror. Out of the way, the audio is excellent, and it is easy to reach for operating - plus if you hang the mike in the right place you can usually use it without taking it off the hook for a quick "yes" or "no". Mine is a 2m VHF rig rather than CB but as long as the set is not too big it'll be fine there :)

I had looked there and as you suggest with the right rig it is probably the best location.

I was looking at VHF rigs while in Aus and there is a very good range of dash board friendly rigs were as the CB's IME are sometimes a bit bulky and I'm yet to find a removable front one which I think is the tidiest fitment I've seen

Jules in Aus they are UHF not VHF . Don't have a clue as to what the differance is as i am not a radio nerd or enginer ;)

But certainly alot clearer than the old CB's

Apart from thet i think they are the same as the little radios we used to use in the clubs (i think)

Think of broadcast radio i.e. Radio 1 etc

VHF is FM, CB is medium wave (or AM) in very basic terms... hence the difference in quality.

Ultra High Frequency is higher than Very High Frequency. Rumours that a new spectrum is to be announced called FFFFHF have not been substantiated ;)

I think that CB is FM too these days.
