TD5 Clutch

Recommended Posts

Hello All,

Can anybody help, I have a 52 plate disco with a on/off switch for a clutch. I am going to change it, but I have been told that it has a twin mass flywheel & therefore to do the job correctly should look at changing the secondary Mass!!!! (don't understand this mass business) as well as the clutch???? is this correct & if so how much should the parts be? (ball park figures)

Cheers for any help,

Taff.

AFAIK the flywheel is a one piece thing I don't think it comes to bits (well it does in early Td5's but that is not a reversible process ) so as far as I know it is just a straightforward swap like any other. I would make an assessment when you have the clutch out to look at it, rather than assume it does or doesn't need changing without having seen it.
