Whats the best spark plug?

ROGUE TROOPER

Recommended Posts

IMHO I found the Bosches to be better than Champions but I now swear by Denso's since a local engine tuner turn me on to them. They were half the price of Champs and a third of the price of Bosch, way outperformed both on LPG and I saw the proof on a "Bear" tester, still going strong 15k later, the Champs lasted 3.5 before starting to fail.

Sorry I can't check numbers right now.

I can't remember the name or the phone number but it's in Irvine.

Take the old Gailes road past Comet & (Harry Fairbairn) BMW garage towards Troon, take the left road at the Motor Factors sign posted for the small industrial estate, go to the end of the road just before the railway line and turn left into the estate (lockup type) turn right and he is second or third garage on the right hand side.

Very helpful chap, think a set of 8 were 22 quid.

Have used others but found NGK BPR6ES to be the best recommended by Nige Barker

But cant find where they go on the new engine

Shame on you, have you a CD or Tape with a nice V8 burlbling for full effect then ?

Yep thems the ones, DO NOT fit the twin spark or 4 prong plugs, V*s best on either NGK or Bosch, do not use champion either

Strange how owner's experiences differ: I've had four RRC's, three 3.5's & one 3.9 (never again!) & have always used Champions without any problems. Invoices that came with my last 3.5efi detailed problems with 'misfiring' cured by replacing plugs on three occassions & reference to the part nos. showed the plugs to be NGK. None of the 3.5's have run on LPG or been off-roaded so perhaps that makes a difference(?) Strangely enough a NGK plug is specified for my lawnmower & that never lasts for more than a couple of seasons either!

NGK BP6ES are normally recommended, and what I always used in the 3.9 and 3.5, without any problems whatsover (related to the plugs anyway...). That was with LPG, originally on the OEM dizzy system then later with EDIS and a nice big spark gap :) Changed when they were due, never had to change them earlier.

Avoid fancy plugs - the RV8 doesn't seem to like them much.
