Diff Cleaning

Recommended Posts

well, as fate would have it, I am using the morning to degrease a diff, and do a few loads of washing. Go figure.

I conned the missus into hanging it out though, because I smell like kero, and have the odd deposit of grease on me.

Something tells me I won't be able to hang the diff on the line. Pity.

Give her a couple of quid to go out & give it a quickish cycle in the Dishwasher. :D

The dishwasher is fantastic for parts cleaning! Greasy dirty things come out looking very bling!

We have a little table-top washer. I'm waiting for Sarah to demand a big one which fits in the gaping hole under the worktop in the kitchen - and then it can live in my workshop!

Recomend powder without salt if you want it to stay looking bling for more than a few mins.

................ & if you take the new, big one out to the workshop for a"slight adjustment & 60 day test" you could even finish up with that one. For the larger parts of course. :D

But it does erode ali a bit, as I've found with bike parts. Takes the shine off and leaves the surface pitted.
