Trailer loads, how wide can I go...?

Hi,

I need to move some stables, how wide a load can I have on a trailer...?

I believe the panels are about 8x feet, my trailer in about 6x feet.

Can I have a 1x foot over hanging each side without upsetting Mr Plod...?

depends how far you are going and how you load it

if you put warning signs on the extremities I'd say you'll be ok

I just collected a load that was 6ft over the rear, I added a flag and drove steady

I'd go with the above. The biggest factors are how far, what sort of roads and how well secured the load is. If (and I'm guessing you are) it's a rural trip then they're probably going to be more understanding than if you try and tow it through a city centre

I've towed a load of hay bales that overhung about that much and no attention.

Maximum trailer width is 2300mm and max overhang on each side is 305mm, so you'll be ok, just.

Hi Guys,

Load will be well strapped down with ratchet straps, warning triangles at the ready too..

I have a mixture or roads to travel down, A12 may be one of them....... Ops..
