steamraiser2
Just carried out a major service on my TD5 Disco and changed the rotor filter. No obvious problems but the rotor filter makes a quite loud rumbling noise on run down after the engine is turned off. The old filter was audible but the new one is a real howler. Any one else had this ? Should I worry about it? Its absolutely silent when the engine is running.
BogMonster
It isn't uncommon on Td5s when the engine is really hot so I shouldn't worry about it. Some say it varies from one rotor to another so perhaps some of them are slightly out of balance or something. Sort of sounds like a rather noisy light aircraft gyro winding down. Guest diesel_jim
My td5 used tom then it went in for a service and stopped. like BM says ^^^^ depends on each filter unit.
