orange rover
may be able to get hold of a td5 together with gear box and transfer case. would like to put that into my 200tdi 90. how difficult? intercooler and watercooler will be custom anyhow, so not too worried here, but worried about gearbox and engine mounts. cheers orange
smo
Gearbox and engine mounts are different, fuel system is completely different, electrics are different, looms are different, ecu is required, exhaust and intakes are different.....er, nothing is the same! Guest diesel_jim
Take a gander at Web Rover Where Martin fitted a Td5 into his old TD 90. And the Td5 knowledge base on the same site I'm currently building a Td5 110... in all honesty, if you can find a complete Td5 bulkhead that would be a much easier route....(electronics wise)
Lewis
Fairly easy but time consuming task. Just make sure you have all of the bits Td5 loom and istrument pack will fit earlier dash but as Jim said - its a lot easier if you have a Td5 bulkhead etc Myself and user dirtydiesel fitted a Td5 to a 1983 (factory V8) 110 in a couple of days, but you could do it far quicker if you werent remaking the chassis and rear suspension at the same time
Adrian Turner
I've done it once........... and i won't do it again! next time i'd start with a td5 90 or a 300tdi 90 and build my challenge motor on from that. It's not that hard to do, you just need all the td5 stuff, and there's a lot of it!
