Diff
What gearbox would a 110 pick up with a 2.5 petrol engine have? would the transfer box have a lower ratio etc cause i'd thought the engine would b a bit lame??? It should have an LT77 main gearbox with an LT230 transfer box. The LT230 high range would have been 1.66 as opposed to the 90 and later 90 and 110 defender tdi ratio of 1.4 This is the lowest ratio of the factory available LT230s. However the 2.5 is a decent, but very thirsty engine which produces about 83 bhp. A good one on standard 32 inch 7.50x16 tyres is capable of around 80mph max if there is no headwind. With the relatively low gearing it is revving very high though. Can be a bit slow up hill. Regards, Diff

T1G UP
Bought it! easier to modify than the RR route for me,very tidy and drives very well,Ifor on the back 12 months ticket. The engines well back against the bulkhead so an lt77 no doubt. Pulls suprisingly well and lowered geared.
