Programming a 17tn key fob

Hello All

I am new to this forum and new to Freelander ownership having just bought an 02 plate Hardback

I have read all the stories about the 1.8 engine being a pain but to be honest it doesnt bother me as i have rebuilt a few of these engines for my Caterham kit car.

Could anybody tell me how you programme a 17tn keyfob,is it the one that the dealer has to do (just my luck) or is there a sequance that you do to programme it?

If its the first option how much do they charge? an arm and a leg probably after i was told they chare £1200 to do a head gasket robbing sod's!!!!!!!!!!
