Guest diesel_jim Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 I have one on my 90. you can either buy The ARB healight loom from devon4x4 (thats what i've got on mine, althoughi bought it direct from the states) or you could sve youself some money abd build one. you only need 3 relays... one relay will operate the "dip" beam lights, both wired together. the other two will control the main beam, one relay for each light (as it's main beam that you want to be "brighter" and usually upgraded) the relay that controls the dipped beam needs to be one of the 5 pin variety, as it'll need to be "closed" when there is no current going through it to allow the dipped beam to illuminate. when you push the main beam stalk, all three relays energize... the "dipped" beam relay will energize and turn off the dipped beam (as the lights are wired through the NC - Normally Closed contacts) and the other two will close the contacts (as the main beam lights are wired through the NO - normally open). This is just as it's wired on my 90's loom. dead easy to copy (going to for my 110). it also has a 30amp fuse on the main power in, and a handy little spur off that becomes live on main beam, so you can use it to trigger extra spot light relays. quite a neat idea. The loom is a "universal fit", in such as there is a couple of feet of power lead, and the headlight feed parts are about 6 feet long each, and have headlight plugs on them. there is also a "male" headlight plug into which you plug one of the old headlight plugs, this is what triggers the loom. i removed all these and hard wired it in; much neater and trouble free.
