Mark Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 I am thinking that storage bins would be more useful in the back of my D1 than the 2 little seats that are currently there. Has anyone broken a disco that had bins rather than seats and wants to sell? Or does anyoine want to swap a pair of seats for a pair of bins - preferably beige? just curious Cheers Mark Quote

The bins have a panel that slides in and out but are prone to cracking (at least I did squeezing putting a can of oil and the like in them). Any discos I have seen in the scrappies usually have the bins so give them a try first? Assuming they are not robbing gits! Cheers Grant Quote
BogMonster Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 Has anyone broken a disco I have broken several On a more serious note, just go and buy them, they aren't that expensive as already said, I bought the bins for my old 96MY Discovery because I never used the seats and the bins are a whole lot more useful. They aren't that strong but ideal for holding a tow rope, seat covers, strops shackles etc. Quote
freeagent Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 both the bins in mine are cracked, but i picked up a couple of replacements at old sodbury for £5 for the pair.. I might stick a strip of ally or something inside these to stop them splitting... Quote
davie Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 I had the bins in my last disco but managed to destroy both of them - must learn not to pack so much in!!!! Made some replacements out of chequer plate and secured them quite tightly with self tapping screws and some adhesive, truly worked wonders and held all the stuff i needed + could take the odd knock from chainsaws etc bouncing round the back. Worst part was bending the chequer plate as its surprisingly tough. Quote
