2.5dt to 300tdi conversion help

Hello,

I have a defender 90 1987 with a 2.5dt engine.

I have been looking to convert it to a 200tdi but prices were too high so I got my hands on a 300tdi and gear box, with exhaust, turbo, intercooler, prop shafts, radiator, power steering box etc and also a new seat box thing to fit the gearbox.

I have read a few people had problems with the engine mounts, so I bout 2 new ones and the other probem they had was just making sure the engine fitted in the right place.

Would anybody be able to help me with a check list for the things I would take out first, and if so would everything go back in from the bottom of the check list back to the top ? Or maybe point me in the direction of somewhere that has a picture walkthrough.

Basically I'd just like some advise as I have never really done much work on one but would of liked to give it ago. It seems as though I may be too much of a big job for me so would need to let a mechanic sort it. If this is the case does anybody know of any experienced people who may fit one in the South Yorkshire area and I would be willing to give a hand to get experience ?

If you've got the proper crossmember that the gearbox sits on, then you're 1/2 way there.
