I fitted a Disco 200tdi into my 1992 RR.

Temperature gauge works absolutely fine. Don't know if the range is the same on earlier models though....

How about connecting it up and seeing what happens. should be easy enough to see if it rises to a steady level or not.

i understand your point...it sounds lazy on my part to look around..but the situation here is....by day i try to look for parts....and by night i fit them... bit complicated...i am one of those who would prefer the day was a 36hr one instead of a 24hrs ...i know ...it sounds maniac !!

thanks to every body..

will let you posted about the ending results.

I have a 89 fitted with 91 disco 200tdi engine and box

My temp gauge rises very very slowly (and so does the temp inside)

Also mine does not have a fan fitted to the engine

Just two small air con rad fans on a switch which i have never turned on yet (well once to check they worked)

Asked about this on another forum and they told me not to worry as 200 tdi runs cool anyway

oh and good luck fitting engine :D

cheers

I think there is a small difference between senders on V8 and Tdi. I say this because it seems most Tdi's in their natural surroundings only tend to get to ¼ on the gauge whereas the transplanted ones from Disco to RR seem to reach ½ way.

No scientific proof, just gleaned from chat among club members etc.
