Lars L Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 (LT77 military version) has a tendeny to get worse. It sometimes makes an almost ringing noise and has done that for quite some time. Accelerating, coasting or engine braking, it's there all the time and in all gears. Mostly heard when going slow, like 30-40 mph in fourth gear. Everything else, like shifting and general function, works A OK. Does anybody with more experience than me "been there, done that" and could share some wisdom with me? (I have a feeling that I've been asking away lately, but I do try to contribute whenever I can. ) Quote
cipx2 Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 Although is not exactly the same GB, have a look at this thread: http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=13943 My GB was noisy only in 4th and only when accelerating. There are 2 sound recordings in 1st post that might be of help. Quote

Had something similar on mine a while back - I found it was the gearlever slightly loose on it's stalk - tighted up the nut (under the main gaiter - 17mm I think) which sorted it. Of course, on yours it may be something completely different... Matt Quote
Lars L Posted November 5, 2007 Author Posted November 5, 2007 It's still there even if I grab the lever... Quote
Guest diesel_jim Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 It's still there even if I grab the lever... Is it still there if you apply a little pressure to the clutch pedal? could be a/some broken fingers on the clutch cover plate. Quote
Lars L Posted November 5, 2007 Author Posted November 5, 2007 The cover plate is quite new, but I'll make a note to check again tomorrow. Quote
