Les Henson Posted November 20, 2007 Share Posted November 20, 2007 Well I did use Araldite on a Vauxhall combi van once to hold the thermostat housing on. All three bolts sheared off and as the rest of the casing is half of the side of the engine, I cleaned it all up, roughened both surfaces with some oxide paper, and then glued the thing on. To this day it's still ok and it must be a good few months since I did it. One of my customers tried the same thing with a spark plug in a stripped thread - it lasted a couple of days and then exited rather quickly from the head - making a rather neat impression in the bonnet - that's BMW owners for you Les.
