Les Brock
My Optima that refuses to charge... The charger gets the voltage up to 14.1 but it refuses to go up to 14.4 V to allow the charger to switch to absorbsion stage, do you think this "might" be due to Sulphation and any way of breaking it down or testing (optimate not powerful enough for the size of the battery) tried it already Or is it terminal ? darthdicky
Is it still under warranty? Sorry, nothing useful to add! Richard

dollythelw
Drop test it. You can buy bataid tablets that supposedly break down sulphation - what type of battery is it? is for starting or winching?
Les Brock
Or is it terminal ?Is that a pun Les? Simon, no just another "post" Its a Optima Yellow top (spiral wound AGM) so fully sealed, I'm thinking it needs higher voltage with very low current to break it down used for winching
