muddyplugger Posted November 11, 2005 Share Posted November 11, 2005 I have got my new rear door handle and lock/key (Thank you to ebay this time!!), now how do i fit the lock in the hole? Is it just a matter of pushing it in and hey presto? How does the thing stay in if thats the case? I cant see any way in from the back of the handle mechanism to hold it. MarkieB Posted November 11, 2005 Share Posted November 11, 2005 (edited) It may vary according to year/model, although here's the 1984 110 version: On mine there were 2 bolt plates, one with studs on, the other with threads in, that fit to 2 nuts/bolts respectively on the indoors surface of the lock. The plates are basically the width of the lock, you should see the holes in the door? Unless yours is pushbutton, then it may be very different. I'm thinking of course of the way the 'lock assembly' [i think it's called] fits into the door, on mine there's a hole that the lock itself slides into, then a different hole for the handle.
