20 Jan 08 Bampton

Fancy shaking off the post Christmas blues with a day out non competitive greenlaning in the Tiverton area?

I will be running a Drive Round day on Sunday 20 January at Bampton. As normal there is a limit of 6 vehicles and all vehicles must fulfill these requirements:

DRD requirements

Days will be held at the same price as last year of £35 per vehicle. you can have as many passengers as you like as long as they are in proper seats with seat belts. You will need to bring your own lunch.

These days are aimed at a more social level than the competitive Challenge Events and consist of a typical days escorted driving from 10:30 to 15:30/16:00 hours around private farm land on dedicated off road tracks.

On previous outings attendees have thoroughly enjoyed themselves tackling a wide variety of terrain, including deep water (over the bonnet), varied water driving, some deep mud and ruts, fantastic wooded driving sections and excellent assorted ascents/descents. The terrain is designed to help you develop your driving skill whilst gaining confidence in your vehicles ability, knowing that you have the backup of other vehicles and expertise should you require it.

All sections are optional and can be bypassed. The day is a drive around day with the emphasis on driving rather than having to winch through sections (there are no long bogs for example).

Future dates are 17 Feb, 2nd and 30th Mar and 6 Apr. Please note these will be the Only DRD at BAMPTON until Nov 08.

Some pics to wet the appetite:

yeah got the email, going to drop head off around the garage and have the valves checked and if they are cool then i will prob rebuild it although i am bidding on Fridays engine so i may take you up on your offer ;)

site wise Bampton is the best; its alot more technical as the routes are generally tighter through the woods, but the drops and slopes that you drive down are amazing and there are some great bits to wet the wheels :P

i drove nearly everything with my then tiny wheeled 90 with tips from James and Tim.

just sad i wont be there this time :(

Thanks Jos, consider it booked,, hope the heater works well :o:D

Errr what heater would that be :( ? Am currently working on the roof though - lots of cable ties and bits of cast off bamboo so not sure it'll survive the outside lane just yet!

Will be nice to have on board tuition though!
