hope springs
Hi again, just another axle swap question ( continuation actually). I have tried the suggestions recieved from my last posting, but I think I really need to change the axle due to the axle casing being too thin. I have tried to get a defender or disco axle but they are either silly money or rubbish. I have the chance of a Range Rover axle which I am assured is in good nick, before I go to check it out can someone tell me if it is a straight swap or more trouble than it is worth. Thanks again for the response. Hope Springs.
western
same axle, just make sure you get a later one with the damper [shock absorber] mounts on the front of the axle tubes, early ones had them on alternate sides [one front, one rear]
zulublue
As Western say later RRC will be fine or you can use Disco 1 axels as I have.

acwid
Hey up chaps talking of axel swaps just wondering if the 3.9 disco rear axel would be any use as a swop on a 200tdi 110 are the diff ratios the same cheers.
western
No, you cannot use a Rover axle on the rear of any 110 vehilce as it isn't strong enough to carry the 110's maximum weight this is why LR fitted a Salisbury unit to the rear of 110's. JST
plus the even if you did fit it the rear prop would be too short.
