billybob
So I was trying to drain any sediment/water from the fuel filter in the engine bay and I was an idiot and turned the plastic drain plug in the wrong direction...snapped the threaded plastic part off. I used a broken bolt/nut remover. I am sure glad I had that tool handy! On to the question: Does someone like X-Eng make a nice billet/CNC-machined version so the not-so bright don't break it off in the filter? LandyManLuke
Why not just buy a new filter and not be so heavy handed with it next time, it's not like they're expensive?
billybob
Why not just buy a new filter and not be so heavy handed with it next time, it's not like they're expensive? Good points...I plan on doing that. I actually replaced the filter with a new one, but wanted to avoid the mistake in the future...It probably won't happen again. western
I never bother using that drain plug, just make a note of which way to undo it, X-eng don't do a alloy replacement as it would probably be chucked out with a old filter.
Phil Hancock
Go to an inland water way chandlers and get a metal CAV sedimentor/filter drain plug, plastic plugs are a boat safety certificate(boat MOT) fail.
