GBMUD
The front axles in later 110s use a 32 spline on the shaft-CV joint. This is very small diameter and, I assume, as weak as a kitten. Can I replace the current setup with the AEU2522 CVs I had as spares for the 90 and some more shafts or do I need to spend big money? What are my cheap options to make it a little stronger? I never broke the 10 spline, AEU2522 setup on the 90. Chris
Guest diesel_jim
Ashcrofts do one their super duper HD CV's that fit 300Tdi/Td5 axles, but in 23 spline flavour, so you can use their HD 23/24 spline shafts and have the best of both worlds. i'm currently saving my pennies for a pair! Mark90
If you want to keep 24 spline diff and fit 23 spline AEU2522 CV's then you need aftermarket shafts, eg Ashcrofts. LR didn't fit 23 spline CV's and 24 spline diffs at the same time. Also not sure if AEU2522 CV's will fit with the TD5 stub axle and hubs. Guest diesel_jim
There are the Ashcroft jobbies very nice looking they are too!
white90
Chris you can but need the Maxi drive over height drive members 62mm to accommodate the longer CVs and the bronze bushes that replace the needle roller bearings. that is the set up I have
Mark90
Or buy my early 110 axle and swap the bits over
