Gearbox oil cooling

Your ideas peoples, Disco V8 manual, just prior to a trip to Morocco last summer I changed the rad as the old one had seen better days, the old rad had an engine oil cooler on one side, the exchange rad is a three part rad with two small rads either side of the main radiator.

At present I'm using only the main rad and one of the side radiators to cool the engine oil.

My question is, can I use the other small radiator to replace the gearbox oil cooler that is at present separate and across in front of the main rad, I've spoken to my local landrover specialist and he couldn't understand why I had one at all, reckoned that only auto boxes used an oil cooler.

I had to move the existing gearbox oil cooler to get my winch in and I've always been a bit concerned that the winch restricted the air flow so to lose it and combine it into the rad would tidy things up nicely.

Cheers Bill
