Big_Jon
Has anybody any tips on how to install brake shoes on a 90 (rear and handbrake). Having removed them it looks as if it could be quite a struggle to get them back on - I am sure there must be a technique! western
on my 110's rear drums, I fit the return springs while the shoes are off & offer the lot up & use a large lever [aka chuffing big screwdriver] to persuade them to jump into place, never failed yet
Les Henson
You can take the whole brake backplate/shoe assembly off as a single item and then do the job on the bench (take the opportunity to clean and re-grease the expander unit and adjuster. I do the opposite to Ralph - hook the shoes on the springs, locate the top one, then pull down and fit the lower one. This is easier to do if the drive flange is out of the way. Les.
