Les Henson
If your old discs are the plain type then the caliper won't fit over the vented ones - the gap between the two halves of the caliper will be too narrow. Les.
western
You need the spacers for the calipers. Zeus engineering in Exeter do a spacer kit for front calipers here their part number Z1302 don't know the price but a phone call or e.mail should reveal it. Litch
As long as you get the correct pads for your calipers the same pads fit both vented & non-vented discs (when used with a caliper spacer kit) as the shape & size of the back-plate & friction area does not alter, only the gap between the two caliper halves. I used a spacer kit (not the Zeus one) and it works very well. The cost was about £50, all the parts were in the kit and as the calipers had been rebuilt only a year or so beforehand they came apart very easily. I think I had the whole job done in about 3-hours (replace discs, fit spacer kit, bleed brakes etc).
