Ryan Posted January 23, 2008 Author Share Posted January 23, 2008 Well, if you want to drill some more 'bolt' holes, i still have the swivel eye recovery points that you asked about back last year, possibly fit them......... dunno, upto you, just an idea, and you can look at them for fixing purposes without it costing anything initially. Cheers Paul, but no thanks. I've decided to go for the lifting eyes now. Just trying to source the wide watsits for the weekend. The local stealer didn't have them and neither did the factory. Ryan Posted January 25, 2008 Author Share Posted January 25, 2008 Hi Guys, Just to update you all, I've managed to get what I think are the last two wide jate rings in the country! According to my local parts expert they are probably an Oz fitting due to the part number. No-one locally could get them. The main stealer contacted the factory who don't have any in, and don't know when they are getting supplied again. David Bowyer got back to me my email and said they hadn't sold them for a long time. I did a search of the part number on t'internet and Dingoparts was the only match (apart from two well composed threads on LR4x4 ). I gave them a call yesterday just before leaving work early at about 3 o'clock and they said they had two in stock. When I mentioned their rarity they double checked to make sure. So I order them, along with the long bolts and they arrived about 10 mins ago by ANC. Marvelous service. On the subject of the lifting rings, I went to a place recommended to me by a friend on here (Miketomcat). At least I hope it was the right place as my memory is really bad at the moment. Anyway, the place I went to didn't stock what I wanted and couldn't order them in the size required. However, they pointed me in the direction of a specialist at the other end of the road. I think you could safely say that they (BD Marine, Southampton) can do anything you need in the lifting world. I thought that what I wanted would be a bit small for them. When I went in, on the counter top were three bolts, about a 2 foot long, and four or five inches wide...with nuts to match! I think they probably kept a large crane together!
