Mikeba53
This is my first post, the throttle spindle seal on the Tdi Injection pump is leaking Diesel, where can you get a new shaft and the brass bush from to do the repair, it’s on a Discovery 200 DTI J Rej, I have got all the info on how to do the job, it’s just the replacement parts that I want, everywhere that I have tried won’t sell the parts I need or don’t have them. jimmy_neutron
Unfortunately you don't say where you are from. It is true that noone seems to sell the seal kits anymore. I contacted my local land rover dealer when i wanted mine, and they looked at me like i was speaking Swahili. Mind you, most parts i have asked for have ended in a similar response, unless i take them a part number. Anyway, if ya ring 01228401555. They live in a building which is joined onto the side of Rickerbys in Carlisle if ya know the area. Or for about £150 + VAT + parts (parts are usually next to nowt), they will do a full reseal, test it, and set it up, and give you it back all locked up and timed. If the throttle spindle is worn, then its probably at that age when seals are gonna start going, which could lead you down the road of a never ending job. Nearly forgot. They will need the part number off the pump, so get it before you ring.
JimAttrill
Not really a DIY job, even for a garage like us. Get it fixed as above at a decent Bosch diesel place. There will be one close to you no matter where you are.
Mikeba53
The parts that I managed to get came to day (new shaft and the brass bush) but I don’t need them to now, its stopped leaking now and I have done over 100 miles to make sure and its OK, it must have been a bit of dirt that came up between the shaft and the bush and got behind the O Ring at the top of the shaft then cleared its self, I will have to change the fuel filter now to make sure that nothing else gets through

The job is easy enough to do and the pumps sits upright ish which works in your favour, if you decide to diy then be careful not to crack the case as you driving out the old brass guide, take notes as you do it or better still take pics for reference.
