tomaco1
Has anyone run 285 75 16's with a 2.5 petrol engine? I currently have 265's which seem fine. Any observations or advice would be greatly appreciated. Don't see this combo much in the States. Thanks

Jon W
I had the 255/85 or whatever the common size was, about 33". I didnt really use 5th much when running round and didnt have them on that long as i sold them to a mate. So not much help as cant really remember what they were like for crusing speed. Depends how much acceleration you want really and what sort of driving you do. Off road engine breaking will be a bit worse. And dependiong what driving your doing you fuel consumption might change as working harder to accelerate. Is it worth it for half and inch under the diffs, as i am starting to wonder now on mine, as keep snapping shafts with my 200tdi with the same tyres on. But then the petrol will be fine as just bogs down and doesnt have the power to pull the skin off a rice pudding. Not much help am i?
