smo
My 200Tdi was tuned by allisport, hoses, intercooler and tweeked the pump, however ive just had the injection pump rebuilt and its now back to "standard" settings, ie: dog slow bag of cr@p... So, how do i go about tuning my 200Tdi again, I'd like to increase the boost and obviously the fuelling to match.
zulublue
SMO, would you then say the hoses, intercooler have done nothing and the power has come from the tweaked pump?
smo
SMO, would you then say the hoses, intercooler have done nothing and the power has come from the tweaked pump? Hoses are just hoses, they only benefit you if your old ones are nackered and expand unde rthe boost thus loosing power. The intercooler is great, and essential for a full setup but unless you change the fuelling to match it becomes a drag on the engine increasing lag and decreasing boost. discojmz
at risk of asking you more questions than you're having answered smo, did they up the boost at all? i've been told that the 200tdi runs approx .8bar and the 300tdi runs 1bar but the 200 can happily be turned up to 1 also

discojmz
iirc for the turbo, you use a boost guage (pretty much have to, and once its tweaked the turbo probably wouldnt be safe without being monitored) and then i believe there are two ways of doing it, by having a little bleed valve on the pipe from the compressor housing to the wastegate actuator, or by adjusting the length of the arm on the actuator i did have a website with instructions for adjusting the fuel pump. I shall see if i can dig it out for you jim

smo
there's a very long thread in our Tech Archive about tweaking Tdi injection pumps. Ive read it, well, attempted too, however the pics are missing and its completely random from what i can see with email conversations, comments, and all sorts in there...along with a load of strange symbols where words used to be! western
don't know what the wird symbols are for, IIRC the orignal is within this Defender forum.

Guest mortus
western i cant find it in the defender forum, and spinky, thats for turbo tuning, not fuel pump tuning!
BigSi110
If you've got the Allisport intercooler, I'm told they supply the fuel pump tweak instructions when they ship the intercooler for DIY fitment. Why not give Allisport a call and ask them to send you the DIY-fit instructions?
