Guppy
Hi all! Got my MOT coming up on the 28th and i'm assuming they're not going to look kindly on this here dent. I've measured the chassis spacing and there isn't any warping, but I assume it needs to be fixed! Can anyone give me any pointers, cos to be honest I'm a tad worried! Milemarker Type S
Hi Guppy, Took me some time to see the dent!!... I really would not be worried- mine is at least 1000% worse and causing no problems at all. Mine is a round one- at least it started round- the bottom is now flat and the whole thing banana shaped. Mine is in pretty good shape compared to the rest of the competition guys! Cheers Shrek
FridgeFreezer
If they complain they're being really picky, if they refuse to give you an MOT because of that I'd complain. Nothing in the MOT about dents, if it was rusted through / hanging off / fouling something it'd be an issue.
Les Henson
You ought to see the condition of some of the forum members trucks - they are beat to hell and yet they still manage to bribe their way through pass the MOT. Dents don't fail the MOT, so I wouldn't worry about it. It would be interesting to have a 'who's got the most dented crossmember' competition Les. Guppy
Phew, thank heavens for that! I was terrified you'd all turn around and say 'ooh, that's a replacement needed, have to take the body off...' I'll just concentrate on fixing the ruddy great hole in the passenger foot-well then... I'd hope you don't need to take the body off - it's bolted in and will fall out with a bit of persuasion from LR tool #1. You can source a new one from any number of scrapped Range Rovers.
