paintman
Not overly difficult. But usually unsucessful for long as the shaft will also be worn. For a manual see www.green-oval.com

I fitted the lower seal to mine on the output shaft, the worst part was getting the steering arm off it took all of a 10 tonne hydraulic puller and a little heat to crack it off. once off there is a circlip and a spacer if i remember right then you can get the seal out, it was awkward to get the new one in past the circlip groove and took some patience to do but the box has been dry for 2 years now
andyb
Ditto the above. Wasn't too hard at all when I did one....bottom seal only as it was leaking. I asked on this forum (International bit I think) about which seals kit to use and the Zeus Engineering ones came out on top. IIRC it was about £35 for the pair of seals (top & bottom). letsgodisco
Thank you guys, much appreciated...... Ive just won a steering box on eBay for a very extortionate £4.99.....thats a full steering box still on the car for £4.99...one bidder ME! the guy is in Sheffield and has just rang me to say he will take it off for me ready for collection 'what a guy' (it worked fine before he ripped the engine out for his 90), his listing stated 'collection only' and he was offered more money to post it but he couldnt be harassed, suits me Im a cockstride away, 'Dont you just love it when a plan comes together' (I'll blip him a drink if its a guddun). I will be re-sealing 'zeuss' my old one as you guys have directed and that will then do as a spare aswell as another lesson in Land Rover, once again Thanks for your ponderings..... Good site this!
