Diff
Bit of an unusual request - Does anyone know whether the ashtray on the top centre of the dash in my 1985 110 CSW is the same as that fitted to a 2004-2006 Td5 110 with air conditioning? The reason I ask is that I want to use my existing ashtray as a template to make a more secure mount for my GPS. I shall be taking the GPS to southern africa to use in a hired Td5 Land Rover, so if the ashtrays are the same, I can take my ashtray/mount with me. I don't want to rely on the windscreen suction mount on corrugated tracks. Thanks in advance, Regards, Diff
Scotian
I dont know but I will take my ashtray tomorrow and try it in my mates Td5 and let you know if you havent already found out. I use velcro (sticky type) for my GPS and it stays in place no matter how bad I crash the the landrover :-S

GBMUD
The one in my 2004 looks identical to the one in my 1991. Chris

Diff
Thanks all, I like the velcro idea, but I guess there is also the danger of the glue backing coming off in the heat. I will see what I can come up with with the ash tray. Regards, Diff
Scotian
I hold down all number of bits of kit to the dash in my truck in Iraq. Even through the summer they stayed put.
