FridgeFreezer
Don't Defender steering arms go where the leaf springs want to be?
Tonk
theres all sorts of problems, the steering arm can foul the leaf spring, also the track arm would have to run under the diff as per defender, late series have room for this in the diff casing, earlier series diffs dont. Gremlin
It can be made to work, but it will involve a lot of head scratching and special parts made, as tonk said there are lots of problems. If your aim is discs then there is a tread regarding the matter. Grem

david1701
heres the thread with a much more straightforward way to get discs, i'm guessing you could find it but meh http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=22910 a pretty awesome looking thread, but i'll settle for an mot and some road use for my baby before i get heavy with anyting
tacr2man
If its an 88 series you can get more than enough braking by changing to 6 cyl 109 braking system a heck of a lot easier and cheaper than fitting discs JMHO
FridgeFreezer
The 6cyl drums are excellent - until you get them muddy. It's the downfall of all drums really. If you're going to bother, just do discs, it's easier in the long run.

Luwts
Once on an Lro Magazine, there was a feature about a series 3 built all from bearmach parts, in fact he was the son....it had front 90 hubs and discs and they modified the axle flange where the swivels bolt on....Don't now what they did about shafts and steering geometry...
