Les Henson
I vaguely remember reading somewhere that you can save a bundle of money by fitting 300TDi Disco wheel bearings, spacer, nuts, and lockwasher to a TD5 hub. Does anyone know if this is right/possible? Thanks Les.
BogMonster
Not on a Discovery Les, or not AFAIK. You can convert the Td5 age Defender hubs to the Tdi type adjusting nuts and it is a useful mod, but the Discovery 2 has a sealed wheel bearing arrangement which is, AFAIK, a completely sealed unit that can't even be greased. hoss1720
Thats right ,they are a sealed unit.Dont know if you already know this but the hub is the same as that used on the Range rover(P38)plenty of these available in the breakers.Ive just replaced one on my V8 1999 Disco 2.Cost from the breakers £65.
