FUEL PROBLEM

Recommended Posts

Hi to you all.

I have a problm with my newly tweeked TDI 300 its done 130 thou miles and as far as i can sea its in good codition. The engine has just had a new full lenth intercooler and a new uprated tubo. The guys who did this work are well known and very professional, they told me the engine is getting plenty of air but not enough fuel in. Ive done the mods to the injection pump ie the starwheel and diaphram but even with this i cant get it to smoke at the exhaust infact if i move the diaphram and starwheel to the 3 oclock possition then the performanc takes a dive, just need to get more fuel in with the increased air from turbo.

Any advice ?

Has the injection pump ever been overhauled ?

if No, then at that mileage I would suggest you have it checked for correct operation by a Bosch diesel specialist.

The guys who did the turbo and intercooler said almost the same thing they thought the injection pump may have been messed about with in the past. The landy was bought from simmonites a couple of weeks ago and is in very good condition as its just been re furbished, the engine looks to be clean and lookd after. I want more fuel so i can go fast  .

Forgot to mention its running on svo with twin tank but the prob is there no mater what fuel im using .

Any 1 know of a specialist in the herfordshire beds area to checkthe pump fpr me?

Good forum by the way.
