bobed90
I am currently considering insuring all my tools as i have now got quite a collection and i could not afford to replace them if the worst happens. I have tried searching for insurers but they all seam to be trade realated and this is for private use only. Can anyone recomend any firms that would cover me? Thanks Jason
Guest diesel_jim
My home insurance was insured with Chubb, and now NFU, and both offer "garage and outbuilding" cover, the NFU especially as they're aimed at farmer types who have outbuildings (i'm not a farmer by the way... i live in a bungalow!) but both offer good cover. Like Jim I'm with NFU. Garage covered as an outbuilding. mike
bobed90
Thanks for the replies, im currently with the aa for my home insurance. I've checked my policy and outbuildings are covered but only upto 3k in a single claim. I would need at least double that plus my existing cover only covers indivdual items upto 1k and my tool box empty cost that. Ideally i would like a policy that covers the complete contents of my garage including any projects that might be in there. thanks
Raumer
We have used Walker Midgeley (think the spelling is right!) for insuring the workshop machines, tools & models. They were very helpful and had an easy to use system where you just picked out the bits you needed and the value. HTH Ed
