fuel warning light

sounds like the float on the end of the arm in the tank has a hole in it.

the float sits on the "top" of the level of fuel, when you drive around obviously the fuel splashes around and the float will bob up and down (on the end of the arm)

the guage itself is damped (if you've got a decent level of fuel, watch the guage when you turn the ignition off...it takes a few seconds to drop down), but the light (unless it's a Td5, you don't mention) isn't dampened, so i'd suspect the float.

there should be a resistor that should stop the fluctuation signals being recived to the gauge an light

mine did it but the bulbs buggered now so nothin worry about
