MarkParm
anyone out there know the ohm range that the fuel sender for a 110 works on? Was looking to replace my gauge with a backlit one...
Ex Member
Just get a matching sender. It won't match anything else.

Standard gauges *are* backlit, have you tried changing the bulb?
callum
Standard gauges *are* backlit, have you tried changing the bulb? i think by backlit he means through lit. i.e light is provided through the numbers rather than emitting from a ring around the edge of the dial like on most modern cars (and td5's)

MarkParm
yup I was looking for something that lit thru the numbers. I had to replace my temp gauge a little while ago and I thought it might be good to catch the rest of the dash up to it. Plus my speedo is really wobbly. Think I'll just keep my eyes open on ebay and grab some vdo ones as they come up thanks for the replies
western
also read the 'wibbly wobbly speedo' thread in this forum, about how to retro-fit Td5 speedo & fuel/temp gauges, got mine to do.
MarkParm
Is it only the td5 instruments that have thru dial lighting or did it start sometime before that?
Ex Member
Yes at the TD5 intro. Just get a VDO Vision. They look great and don't cost a lot. The senders are cheap as well. The only downside is that after you get one, you'll want to replace them all as the old gauges look horrid afterwards. ~$25 or ~$50 Senders are $7 if you make a bushing from the old one. $40 for a direct fit one.
