whoisashley
Recently I built a B&Q snorkel with a mushroom top. I know it will have an increased resistance on the intake which I believe is causing it to burn more feul than air. So my question is how do I adjust the mixture and is it worth me increasing the idle speed along with the air on the air to feul ratio. Or is this something i should not attempt myself.... All help welcome This is it, its disconnected at the moment till i can sort out the prob
FridgeFreezer
There's a recessed screw on the airflow meter - clockwise richens it, anti-clockwise leans it out. There's probably a correct way to set it up but I have no idea what it is so I'll wait for an adult. I'd leave the idle as-is unless it's a problem. whoisashley
Ok cool thanks FF. I might make it a tad lean and probable leave the idle as its only lower by 200 revs if that.
FridgeFreezer
Don't make it too lean - that's the way to melt a piston. Connect the snorkel, then tune it to suit (if the air filter needs changing do that too before tuning it), and try to err on the side of a bit rich rather than a bit lean.
